Final conference in Italy

February 2024 marked a significant milestone for the Green Job Growth (GJG) project as Gli Amici di Puck hosted the project’s local final conference in Ercolano, Italy. This event served as a culminating moment, showcasing the comprehensive outcomes and lasting impact of the project dedicated to fostering sustainable development and green employability among Europe’s youth.

The conference brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including project partners, local educators, youth workers, and representatives from various community organizations, to reflect on the journey of the GJG project and its achievements. It was a day filled with presentations, interactive discussions, and networking opportunities, all centered around the project’s mission to equip youth workers with the necessary skills and knowledge to guide young people towards meaningful employment in the green economy.

Highlights of the conference included detailed walkthroughs of the project’s key outputs: the Pedagogies and Competences Guidebook, the innovative e-learning modules designed for youth workers, and the Toolkit for Youth Workers, which provides practical resources for fostering green skills among the youth. These tools represent the heart of the project’s efforts to bridge the gap in non-formal learning methodologies related to green skills and to create a more sustainable future through education.

In addition to showcasing these resources, the conference also served as a platform for dialogue on the future of green employment and sustainable development. Stakeholders engaged in discussions about how to continue the momentum generated by the project and to explore ways of integrating the GJG project’s findings into ongoing and future initiatives aimed at supporting the green economy.

The local final conference hosted by Gli Amici di Puck was not just a celebration of the GJG project’s successes but also a testament to the power of collaboration and shared vision in advancing the cause of environmental stewardship and youth employment. As the project concludes, the legacy of its efforts is set to continue, inspiring further action and innovation in the field of green job training and development.
